Joseph M. Sharpe, MD, is a Duke University-trained board-certified psychiatrist. He provides supportive therapy, psychiatric medication management services, and TMS Therapy for a wide variety of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, bipolar spectrum illnesses, obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD), attention deficit disorders (ADD/ADHD), sleeping disorders, schizophrenia, and addiction.
Dr. Sharpe graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine and completed his residency in psychiatry at Duke University Medical Center, where he served as chief resident of the Duke Inpatient service.
Dr. Sharpe feels that every patient is unique and deserves an individualized treatment plan and that patients are treated like a person, not a ‘unit of healthcare.’ He employs the biological-psychological-social-spiritual model in which all of these elements are considered when formulating the best treatment plan.
