Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy (MeRT®) is a personalized form of brain stimulation that combines EEG brainwave analysis with tailored TMS protocols to support improved brain communication and function. It is completely drug-free and non-invasive.
MeRT as a personalized treatment protocol is not currently cleared by the FDA. However, the individual technologies used in the process—EEG and TMS—are FDA-cleared for various applications. Clinical trials for MeRT are underway.
During MeRT sessions, patients typically feel a light tapping sensation on the scalp. The treatment is generally well-tolerated with minimal side effects, such as mild discomfort, fatigue, or a slight headache.
Sessions last approximately 35 to 45 minutes. Based on the clinician’s recommendation, most patients undergo treatment five days a week for four to six weeks.
Everyone is different, but many patients notice changes within the first few weeks of treatment. Progress is closely monitored and adjusted through regular EEGs.
Yes, MeRT is considered safe. TMS, a key component of MeRT, is FDA-cleared and has a strong safety profile. The risk of seizure is extremely rare. Our team conducts a thorough clinical evaluation to ensure the therapy is right for you.
Traditional TMS often uses a standardized treatment approach. MeRT, on the other hand, is customized to your unique brainwave patterns, which allows for more precise and potentially more effective outcomes.
An EEG (electroencephalogram) records your brain’s electrical activity. It helps identify patterns or irregularities in brain function, which are then used to create your personalized MeRT treatment plan.
MeRT is used off-label to support individuals with a range of mental health challenges. While we do not name specific diagnoses here, many patients seek MeRT for help with symptoms related to cognitive or emotional imbalance.
Currently, MeRT is not covered by insurance. Because it is a personalized, off-label protocol, most insurance companies do not offer reimbursement. However, we are happy to provide a superbill for you to submit to your provider and explore out-of-network benefits or HSA/FSA eligibility.
